“Big things come in little packages.” These words from my elementary school teacher still echo in my mind to this day. In my career I’ve had to constantly challenge people’s perceptions of me. Too small. Too young. Not enough experience. I counteract this by showing up big where it counts. I bring an energy and enthusiasm that literally jump off the page. My work ethic is unmatched, my optimism is unique and my fervent desire to improve fuels me.
I am a voracious consumer of data. From tracking my stock portfolio to managing my fantasy basketball team, I am constantly delving into statistics and diving into spreadsheets. I have a talent for manipulating and transforming data. My clients and colleagues affectionately dub me an Excel “ninja.” I am excited for the big data revolution and feel like we have only scratched the surface of what big data can do. Eager to keep up with advancing technology, I am constantly challenging myself to master new concepts to add to my data-crunching repertoire.
I may be one of the friendliest people you ever meet, but in the work place, I can turn into someone with unrelenting passion and intensity. There are times when I am extremely collaborative and will do anything to help the team succeed, but I have also shown I can take the reins and lead a team. I look forward to sharing the many layers of my personality with my classmates as I make my mark in business school and reaffirm those words of encouragement from my favorite teacher all those years ago.
