Darlene Gilliam

Darlene Gilliam has been married for 29 years this June 2012, she has 4 Children, two girls and two boys, she has 11 grandchildren, I have been in the field of recreation, after school and summer camp programs for over 31 years, this is my passion. I grew up in Asbury Park, NJ for many years, I was living in Asbury Park before the riots, I graduated from Asbury Park High School and went on to college for Special Education Teacher and my career has changed. I am a grant writer and I implentment youth, senior citizen and girls and boys programs. I worked as a Senior Counselor at the Boys and Girls Club for 5 years and Program Director and After School Coordinator at the West Side Community Center for 7 years, I worked as an Employment Specialist and Job Coach at the Asbury Park High School for 4 years with the School Based Youth Service Program, I worked as a Outreach Worker at the Jewish Family Community Center in Asbury Park, I worked as an Parent/Community Liaison for 3 years at the Asbury Park High School, I worked as an Program Coordinator for Uniting Youth program as a partner with the Mental Health Associate for 1 year. My goal is to establish year round after school and summer programs for children. I am a Minister being led by God to speak the truth and pray for families and the communities.
