Queer Halal Time is a vital space within our community to explore what it means to be Queer and Muslim in a world that often overlooks and marginalizes our existence. Many of us have faced judgement, discrimination and scrutiny from both Muslim spaces, as well as in Queer spaces. Often, the intersections of our identities are seen as incompatible, which is why we as Queer Muslims believe that our existence itself is an act of resistance. Every day, we combat Islamophobia and Queerphobia. It’s in these spaces that we collectively celebrate our queerness, challenge oppressive norms, and ultimately reimagine what it means to be Muslim while honoring our queer identity.
