Anab Mohamed

My name is Anab Mohamed, a recent graduate of UCSC. I am very passionate about social justice issues, women's global health and rights and most importantly the means to change things and make our world a little better. I was given the opportunity to partake in changing people's lives in Kenya through Africa Outlook program. I ask for your help and support for my mission to give them a chance at a better life, and to show them that there are people in this world that care. My work will make a world of difference to them, and your support will help me do that. Here is what I will be doing:

* Prepare an awreness raising strategy that is also culturally sensitive, about community health issues that are facing the Maasai.

* Engage in observational studies of the health and hygiene practices( such as maternal health, female genital mutilation practices) of the Maasai community in order to create a culturally sensitive awareness campaign, so they are able to make better choices that benefit their health

*Assist local health practitioners in the provision of health services such as Children's de-worming and immunization, TB/Malaria/HIV treatment and/or testing

Please help me in raising funds my mission, and to learn more about my cause. I am planning to raise $2,000 BY FEBRUARY 25TH 2012 for the trip in order to contribute to help an indigenous community that is marginalized in Kenyan society.

To you I give my most sincere thanks.

Anab Mohamed
