I report on education issues for ThinkProgress. I cover education stories that may have fallen through the cracks and focus on LGBT students and teachers, teachers and students of color, economic disparities between public schools and much more.
Before ThinkProgress, I covered investing trends and edited investing stories for U.S. News and World Report. I've written about the marijuana industry, investing in the Philippines, the relationship between police and trans women, incidents of women being raped by women and a new brand of stalking facilitated by easy-to-access apps.
During my time at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, I covered everything from city politics, breastfeeding laws, education, the effectiveness (or ineffectiveness) of job training centers and the stock market.
Before coming to graduate school, I worked at a weekly, the Lowville Journal and Republican and contributed to The Watertown Daily Times in upstate New York. I was one of only two reporters assigned to cover Lewis County. During my time there I reported on everything from local government to education and arts and culture.
Before my adventures in the North Country, I spent six months interning as a reporter for The Legislative Gazette covering the New York legislature. Throughout my six months at the Gazette I also covered the state budget, a scandal at a juvenile detention facility, and the announcement of then Lieutenant Governor Richard Ravitch’s fiscal plan. I wrote articles for the newspaper and web and took photos as part of coverage for the 2010 New York State Republican Party Convention in New York City.
