Brendan Quinn
Commercial Director, Fundraising Director, and Mental Health Advocate in London, United Kingdom
Brendan Quinn has worked on the business side of healthcare for over a decade, and has over 20 years of experience working in the healthcare industry as a whole. He is the Commercial Director at two drug addiction treatment and recovery organisations based out of London.
Originally inspired by his work in London-based hospitals, Brendan Quinn eventually realised the need for innovative forms of treatment that hospitals could not provide. Brendan decided to effect the change he wanted to see. He has since taken on leadership roles in numerous organisations which provide care, treatment, and above all, hope for people who struggle with their mental health or addictions.
Growing up in a small village in Ireland, Brendan learned very early on about the need for more study and care in mental health. One of Brendan's brothers had a developmental disorder that detrimentally affected his physical and mental capacities. This disorder eventually took his life. Brendan's experience with his brother is what pushed him to study mental health, at Thames Valley University. As Brendan moved into mental health treatment, he kept the lessons of care and compassion that he'd learned from his brother.
Today, Brendan continues to be active in efforts which benefit his home country as well. Currently he's working on fundraising for Connections Therapy Fota, a small initiative based in Ireland, which provides much-needed respite from the stresses of caring for loved ones with learning disabilities (particularly the stresses which arise from financial costs).
Brendan Quinn spends his spare time doing a number of hobbies, from physical activities like swimming and walking to more relaxing choices like watching movies and reading.
