Quinn Curtis
I am a successful businessman, having been in the software industry for over 20 years, working at companies ranging in size from five person startups to the Microsoft Corporation. In 2005 I founded and was CEO of BrightCloud, Inc, a hosted web security company based in San Diego, CA. BrightCloud was cash flow positive and growing revenues 3x year over year. We acquired a San Diego security company in 2008, and were acquired by Webroot Software in July 2010, returning our VC a 3x over two years. I was also the Director, Product Management at Websense, Inc. (WBSN). In that role I restructured the scope of the PM team, created Websense's first product marketing team, and was responsible for the product management and OEM partner relations teams. I also served as Director, Software Applications at Widcomm, Inc. and 9 years at Microsoft Corporation, working as a product manager on the team that built and launched the first version of Microsoft Exchange, as a Business Development Manager in the Internet Commerce and BackOffice Business Units, and in the Multinational OEM Group negotiating deals of almost $1 Billion in size with hardware vendors. I served six years in the United States Navy as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Surface Line Officer. I have an M.A. in International Affairs from the George Washington University and a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy.
I have two wonderful daughters as well, Tazmin, 17 and Serina, 15, who attend the Bishops school in La Jolla, CA. Tazmin will attend Swarthmore College (outside Philadelphia) in the fall of 2012.
