Quinny Banner

Cosplayer in City of London, United Kingdom

Read my blog

Hello!

I'm Quinny, a big old nerd from the U.K. I have fibromyalgia, Ehlors-Danlos, Marfoid syndrome, bipolar and post-injury syndrome. I work in supported employment to help individuals with learning disabilities to find meaningful work. That's the serious bit over and done with!

I'm a cosplayer who just loves bringing their favourite characters to life. I've cosplayed a wide range of characters including Levi Ackerman, The Winter Soldier, Ciel Phantomhive and Rei Ryugazaki. I attend most conventions in London, when they fit around work.

I started my little blog to, really, talk about the way cosplay and chronic illness interact. I'll be posting everything from works in progress, to reviews of companies and items, to convention write ups, and information about chronic illness.

In particular, I'm planning to write some tips and tricks for photographers and other cosplayers about making photoshoots, cosplays and conventions as easy and painless as possible for people with chronic illnesses or disabilities.

My background is in forensic science, first aid and care for the elderly. In the course of my work, I have supported people with many disabilities, such as autism, dyslexia, visual and/or audiological impairment, mental health issues, physical disabilities such as paraplegia, cystic fibrosis and cerebral palsy. As well as having a chronic illness myself, I'm acutely aware of how to make life easiest for someone with a disability.

I hope you enjoy reading! I love seeing your comments, and I'm happy to write about anything you may like me to.
