Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Devonshire, England

Hi, my name is Samuel Taylor Coleridge and I was born in devonshire on October 21 1772 as the youngest of 12. When I was 10 years old I went to London to study. I attended Cambridge University but dropped out. I was married once but I got divorced because of health problems and my opium addiction. I met my bestfriend William Wordsworth in 1797. During this year I wrote my most famous poem, Kubla Khan. In 1810 I moved to England and lived there for the rest of my life and died on the 25 of July 1834 at the age of 61.

A couple of interesting facts about myself:

I wrote the poem Kubla Khan about an opium induced dream that I had but as I was writting I was interrupted and lost some of the dream.

I also wrote many essays on philosophy, politics, criticism, and religion.

I first used opium when I was 23 because of neuralgia and developed a dependance early on.
