Deacon Bob Walker

Germantown Tennessee

On All Saints Day, November 1, 1996 Linda and I were confirmed into the Catholic Church. We had been looking for the "Church" for decades. We grew up Methodists, me in San Antonio and Linda in Jackson, Tennessee. We met when we were a part of a house church fellowship that met in Memphis, Tennessee, where I was in medical school. During that time I became a Christ and Cross-centered man and the Lord put a lens on my eyes known as "The Incarnation." I began to see the Scriptures in 3-D relief and I began to look for the Church that I saw in Scripture. We married one week after I graduated and we were off to a rotating internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. We continued to look for the Church where we could experience an incarnationally based deep fellowship, Christ centeredness, freedom of the Spirit, service and evangelization. We found everything in the Catholic Church. I found eveything in the Catechism of the Catholic Church that the Holy Spirit had shown me over the years in Scripture. I basically Bible-studied my way into the Catholic Church! After being confirmed as Catholic Christians my pastor sponsored me into the five year Deacon formation process and I was ordained in April of 2008. I am presently assigned to Catholic Church of the Incarnation in Collierville, TN. The irony of that has not been lost on me. The honeymoon with the Catholic Church continues.
