Rahul is a child of the Himalaya!

His entire life's work and philosophy finds its wellspring in these great mountains, which he calls home. A deep and abiding sense of gratitude for what the mountains have given him, is the driving force behind his calling as a Mountaineer and Conservation Educator.

This has seen him volunteer with the Spiti Valley Snow Leopard Project, jointly run by the reputed conservation advocacies: The International Snow Leopard Trust (ISLT) and Nature Conservation Foundation (NCF) - India. He's also worked with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) India's Himalayan Wetland Conservation Program, where he was actively involved with community outreach and participatory conservation initiatives.

In addition to this, Rahul has more than two decades experience as a seasoned Mountain Guide & Outdoor Educator; Leading experienced as well as novice adventurers on difficult expeditions, trekking routes & exploratory forays all over the Western Himalaya.

He runs a sustainable mountain travel outfit - Mystic Himalayan Trails- based in Manali, in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The sole mission of this outfit is to bring like-minded people into the sanctuary of the Himalaya; To share with them the beauty & vibrancy of the unique ecosystem of these majestic mountains.
