Miami Heat Limited Partner Raanan Katz arrived in the United States nearly fifty years ago with the goal of joining the National Basketball Association. Already established as a skilled outside shooter with the Israeli National Basketball Team, he continued his sports career by joining the Boston Celtics training camp. Raanan later played for the United States All Stars, the Harlem Globetrotters sparring team, and subsequently played for the Sea Gulls before seeking residence and investment opportunities in Boston. In 1986, Raanan Katz signed on as a partner with the Miami Heat when it first gained approval as an expansion franchise, and has remained highly involved with the team and its many successes ever since.

Along with his contributions in the sports industry, Raanan Katz pursues a career in real estate development that began in the 1970s when he purchased a small apartment building in Boston. While managing the property, Raanan learned several valuable lessons in adequate property maintenance and conservative development practices. During his time in the rental real estate market, he acquired more than 2,000 apartment units throughout Boston before he shifted his objectives to retail development.

In 1980, Raanan Katz founded RK Centers, a privately held real estate company focused on retail and office building development projects throughout the New England and Miami Beach areas. Today, RK Centers owns more than 100,000 square feet of office floor space and 6 million square feet of retail space. Through conservative borrowing practices and the resulting low debt structure, RK Centers maintains a reputation as one of the most stable property management companies in the industry.
