Rabbi David Amaris a dedicated spiritual leader, educator, and mental health professional serving the Conservative Jewish community in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Born and raised in Israel, he developed a deep connection to Jewish life and music from an early age, performing in his father's boys' choir at just five years old. His educational journey includes studies at esteemed institutions such as Yeshivat Ateret Cohanim and Yeshivat Shavei Hevron in Jerusalem, as well as Yeshiva University and Hebrew College. Additionally, he received cantorial training at the Great Synagogue's Re'nanat Institute for Jewish Sacred Music.

After completing his studies, Rabbi Amar honorably served in the Israel Defense Forces for four years, attaining the rank of lieutenant. He furthered his education by earning a Master’s in Jewish Education from Hebrew College and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University. Currently, he is a Licensed Professional Counselor, integrating spiritual guidance with emotional well-being to support individuals and families.

For the past 15 years, Rabbi Amar has served as the Rabbi at Congregation Ahavat Olam, a Conservative synagogue in Howell, New Jersey. He is committed to making Jewish teachings accessible and relevant, with an approach that emphasizes engaging youth and families, providing compassionate pastoral care, and incorporating music into worship. Beyond his congregational duties, he serves as a volunteer chaplain for the Howell Police Department and offers on-call pastoral care at Jersey Shore Hospital.

Rabbi Amar is married and a father of four. An accomplished musician, he enriches worship with music, using his talents to create a deep and meaningful spiritual connection. When he’s not serving his community, he enjoys sailing, finding both adventure and tranquility on the water.
