Dallas Rabenstein

A distinguished professor at the University of California, Riverside, for three decades, Dallas Rabenstein taught chemistry courses at graduate and undergraduate levels. He also spearheaded grant funding efforts that enabled a research program and chaired the Chemistry Department for a half dozen years. Dallas Rabenstein obtained competitive grants from agencies such as the National Science Foundation and the California Cancer Research Coordinating Committee.
Dr. Rabenstein also served as Graduate Division dean and coordinated the development of a "UCR 2020: The Path to Preeminence” strategic plan designed to provide UC Riverside with a sustainable growth pathway. His responsibilities extended to chief academic officer and he handled operational aspects such as faculty hiring, campus budget, and academic matters.
Dr. Rabenstein’s experience extends to more than 15 years of chemistry teaching and research at the University of Alberta and he earned fellowship status with the Chemical Institute of Canada. Dallas Rabenstein’s research focus has included projects focused on the blood anticoagulant heparin and its functions, as well as the characterization, synthesis, and design of peptidomimetics.
