A bit difficult to meet people here except as a way to trade business cards, but that's alright...

I came across about.me many years ago when it was just starting up, and I used the site as a digital business card of sorts. Seeing how creative others have been with theirs, I feel a bit silly for putting up what sounds like a stodgy page.

Now, for a simple introduction, though broken down a bit because I do a lot of stuff...

First and foremost, I am a teacher based in Tbilisi, Georgia, with a background of teaching English (ESL, ELA, AP), History, Geography, Music Appreciation, and Film & Media classes.

I've been a teacher for 22 years now (as of 2004), working in the Los Angeles area, as well as in Skopje, Macedonia, Brno, Czechia, Beijing, China, Budapest, Hungary, Tbilisi, Georgia, and Naples, Italy, teaching both online and in-classroom classes for ESL. I enjoy the challenge of helping those who struggle to learn English, a very difficult language to master, although it's relatively easy to communicate on a basic level.

I moonlight as a blogger. You can read Music You Need To Hear and A Miscellany of Tasteful Music at your leisure. My passion is for sharing music I find from all over the world with friends and followers, and I've had the pleasure of making lifelong friends due to this passion. I'm also a small label owner (CLCX). This came from serving as an A&R agent and licensor for Tone Casualties (a record label owned by 'Rugrats' animator Gabor Csupo) and Aprelevka Sound, a now-defunct U.S.-Russian company that took some of the titles from the former Soviet state label, Melodiya. CLCX is a digital labor-of-love for me, where I promote music from Armenia, Russia, and Belarus. I work with avant-garde music, classical, some electronic music (if it's dark), and would like to spend more time with ethnic music, jazz, and improvisational stuff.

I started my working career as a police cadet in Southern California, and, tied with the other career choices I've made, I bring a wealth of experience and quite a few decent stories with me.

Finally, I participate when I can with my local Eastern Orthodox Church, discuss philosophy occasionally with good friends, and travel frequently to the Balkans, a place I consider my home away from home.

I am content in Georgia, but am willing to entertain serious relocation offers, especially to the Caucasus, Central Asia, or Southeast Asia.
