Rachael Moss

Washington d.c.

Originally from Surrey, England, Rachael grew up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the U.K., before settling in Washington D.C. in 1999. Upon moving to the States she first attended the British School of Washington, followed by middle school and high school at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, in Maryland. At Stone Ridge she unearthed her love for journalism, working as the Editor-in-Chief of the school’s monthly newspaper during her senior year. After graduating from high school and completing internships at the World Bank and National Geographic, Rachael moved to Ireland to begin university at Trinity College Dublin.
While in Dublin, Rachael took full advantage of living in one of the world’s greatest cultural hubs, enjoying the city’s musical, theatrical and literary offerings. She also travelled across Europe during her term breaks, exploring England, Italy, Spain and France. Throughout her college years Rachael also balanced her studies with a position in Trinity’s International Admissions Office: she earned a place on the Student Ambassador program, which involved conducting tours of the college for prospective international studies and their families, and organizing events for visiting universities and organizations from around the world. After studying marketing, accounting, finance, political theory and international relations, Rachael was awarded a joint Bachelor’s degree in Business and Politics from Trinity.
Immediately following graduation, Rachael returned to the U.K. to earn her Master’s degree in International Politics from City University London. She resumed her position as Student Ambassador in London, travelling across the country to represent City University at several university fairs and conferences. She also worked as a telephone fundraiser on her university’s Future Fund campaign, raising scholarship money for students struggling financially, ultimately ranking #1 on the team for the number of donations secured, the average donation amount, and the consistency of donations. In addition to working and enjoying London’s fast-paced, diverse environment, Rachael spent the summer of 2013 completing her Master’s thesis: “Democratic Consolidation in Morocco: Real Change or Masquerade?”. During her research, she spent two weeks in Tangier, Morocco, conducting a series of semi-structured and unstructured interviews with academics and government officials. Her thesis was ultimately awarded a distinction by City University London.
