Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Rachael is a former engineer who loves practicing technology law. She studied mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan and attended law school in Houston while working as a patent agent for Shell Oil Company. After spending several years as an in-house IP attorney at Weyerhaeuser, she joined Microsoft where she worked as both a licensing attorney in OEM and a product attorney supporting a variety of hardware projects including the Microsoft HoloLens, Microsoft Health, and the Microsoft Band. Currently Rachael is in-house counsel at Google supporting Daydream, Google Lens, and other immersive computing technologies technologies. During her free time, Rachael dabbles in video editing, practices yoga, and volunteers as a member of the legal committee for the Organization for Transformative Works. Her claim to fame: winning an international scavenger hunt known as GISHWHES with her awesome team known as the Vatican Cameos.
