I have spent the last 2 years as a teacher and Acting Principal of a beautiful, remote community in the Northern Territory. I return home to my role as Middle Years teacher at Southern Cross Catholic College, north of Brisbane and my philosophical belief is that a successful teacher is one who embraces the world of young minds and provides them with a focus and role model who inspires confidence, leadership, support and direction for their future aspirations. As parents and educators we must explore life and cultures that differ from our own and promote unity and diversity in our homes and classrooms, providing the best environment to enable children to be educated in a way that leads them to discover the beauty of life.
