A proud mom, educator, curriculum designer, STEM expert, teacher trainer, and writer, I am an eager and enthusiastic learner always looking to build in the 'Wow factor' for children as they learn. I believe that an element of awe motivates kids to make efforts to explore which leads to the kind of learning that is enduring and meaningful. Observant and sensitive, I find cognitive and behavioural development in young children fascinating and believe strongly that the little people are far more capable of learning, reasoning and thinking than we generally give them credit for; which is why I have (among other writing works and books, both in my name as well as as a freelance ghostwriter) ten textbooks for kids running in schools across India and four more specifically to develop thinking skills in young kids from ages 4 to 10. Creative, experienced with children, insightful and curious, I have great imagination which helps me design and develop disruptive curricular interventions and exercises for kids to sharpen cognitive skills, and develop and foster life skills, values and self belief in children.
When not wearing the hat of author, writer and educationist, I am an agri-entrepreneur and a normal mom, regularly annoying my teenage son as only a mom might. I enjoy nature and working with plants. A spiritual person, I find an urgent need for awakening human consciousness in people, specially children, a very important part of education. I feel blessed to be able to think, wonder, imagine and be thoroughly involved with what I do.
A compulsive reader, I will read anything from nursery rhymes, fairy tales and labels on shampoo bottles to fiction, non-fiction, self-development books as well as articles of all kinds.
Having written scores of articles on the Web on all kinds of topics from chicken coops, swimming pools, greenhouses to parenting and education, I am a keen writer and try to write whenever time permits. I write two blogs:
