I got my start as an Opinions writer for my college newspaper, the Smith College Sophian. My first column was about teaching my thoroughly Midwestern father the concept of “sexual fluidity.” I received a Masters in American history from Northwestern, where my thesis focused on the historical origins of the school to prison pipeline. Currently, I write about justice (educational, racial, environmental and economic), politics, and social movements.
