Rachel Trenkler

I come from a wonderful Christian family in Chicago, IL. They always encouraged me to follow God with all my heart and to keep Him as my top priority. Since I was young, God has been developing in me a heart for the people in Asia. I want the people in Asia to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ! My first step towards this was to take Chinese my senior year of high school. After high school, I attended Rockford Master's Commission (RMC), which is now called Focus One. Through RMC I was able to take my first short-term mission trip to Asia. It was a stretching but nonetheless amazing experience! After finishing the RMC program, I decided to attend Bethany College of Missions so that I learn how to encourage the people of the world to turn from their sins to follow Jesus. I am currently a Senior at Bethany, doing an internship in Thailand. I'm studying the Thai language and culture and I am teaching English at a Christian after-school program for kids who live in the slums. Though this has been an amazing experience, I'm looking forward to what God will bring me to after I graduate this spring.
