It may have taken three semesters and two other majors for me to make the right choice—Fashion Merchandising—but many people were not surprised with where I've ended up. My family has always valued fashion and ever since I was young I knew the difference of wearing white cords to white jeans in the winter. As the youngest of three, I always had large footsteps to follow. My time spent at the University of Delaware has taught me those footsteps were only of my imagination and that style specifically is a form of expression, one in which I have developed my own. Previous work experiences have helped me embrace my outgoing, eager to please personality and use it to my advantage. I have learned that the times I've spent acting as a comedian for my family and friends was not just a fun hobby, but also a crucial skill I have been able to use in both the work place and school. The courses in which I am currently enrolled in and have previously taken have expanded my knowledge on the art and business of fashion, marketing, and public speaking. I only hope, with time and more experience, I can develop a better understanding of the fashion industry, furthering my knowledge on this field’s culture and etiquette.
