Rachel A.G. Gilman
Writer, Student, and Radio Producer in New York
Rachel is a writer, wanderer, and probably the girl in the Kinks t-shirt trying to order Jamba Juice.
Rachel's creative work has been published in Minetta Review, Embodied, The Gallatin Review, and West 4th Street Review. She is in the process of attempting to publish her first novel, "Maybe, This Is It."
She is also currently News Director at WNYU, NYU's student-run radio station, where she runs the award-winning news department that broadcasts programming both at 89.1FM in the Tri-State area, and worldwide online. She holds executive producer credits on two weekly programs, "The Rundown," which covers weekly coverage of current events and cultural affairs, and "The Write Stuff," where interviews and readings by writers of all kinds are featured.
Additionally, Rachel is a weekly staff columnist for NYU's independent student newspaper, Washington Square News on their arts blog, The Highlighter, where she writes "Hump Day Update" and pokes fun at pop culture. Her journalistic writing can be found on NYU's chapter of The Odyssey, where she has interviewed musicians such as The Maine, A Great Big World, and Jaymay, and covered other various cultural events. Through Odyssey, Rachel also acts as lead producer for their national podcast, "Odyssey On Air," where Millennials from around the country give their take on a multitude of generational topics.
