Rachel Jenkins
I grew up in Haiti with American missionary parents, and am fluent in Creole with some French and Spanish. I moved to Thailand in October to teach English and literature at an international high school and try to save money to get one of my inventions licensed. I spend free time photographing birds but in the US I was also an avid ballroom and swing dancer, hiker, broke and trained horses for trail riding and driving, an inventor who was constantly building and testing prototypes for my own use, wrote music, designed and made my own clothes, was one of the editors for a published book, and illustrated a children's book. I like to travel, jam on piano and base with musicians, and read classic, historical, non-fiction, sci-fi, or any well-written book. My current favorite TV shows are Chuck and The Big Bang Theory but I can only watch them here on DVD. I prefer to eat freshly made, uncooked food, like Thai green papaya salad, with some fish, and prefer hiking, birding, swimming, and other outdoor activities to eating at restaurants. I am divorced with two grown children who live in the US.
I have a Masters in English and taught briefly at Morehead State University, KCTCS, University of Kentucky, and Tec de Monterey in Mexico and ran my own real estate investment business for five years while taking care of my parents. When my children were young I helped my husband with his chiropractic office and raised and sold exotic birds.
I have lived in Haiti, Colorado, Kentucky, Iowa, Mexico, and Thailand
I have attended Asbury College, Bethel College, and Morehead State University
