Hey yall! My name is Mrs. Rachel Booth - I am excited to be a part of the Deerfield Elementary Faculty and Staff. I am a first grade learning facilitator! This is my fourth year teaching first grade - I love working with first grade students! One of my favorite things about first graders is seeing the huge growth that my students have over the course of the year.

I am graduate of Presbyterian College where I studied Political Science and English. After graduating, I joined the US Navy as a Supply Officer. However, after injuring my knee, I was given a medical discharge. I then moved to Washington, D.C. where I joined US Congressman J. Gresham Barrett's staff, and served for a year on the Hill. However, my favorite part of my job was working with student groups visiting Washington, D.C.

I decided to head back to college, and enrolled in a graduate program at Wilmington University. I graduated with my Masters in Elementary Education (k-6). My first teaching job was at a private Catholic school in Newark, DE - Holy Angels School. I spent three years on the faculty at Holy Angels, teaching second grade, first grade, and kindergarten.

My husband's job brought us back to South Carolina. When we moved to Lexington, I took a first grade position at Carolina Springs Elementary. I loved working at CSES and am so thrilled to continue to work with many of those families here at Deerfield Elementary School.

When I am not at school, I am usually with my family - my husband, Edmund, our almost 4 year old daughter, Reagan, and our 6 month old son, Alex. I love to cook and travel, and am passionate about sewing and quilting. I also sell Rodan + Fields skin care and enjoy sharing my love of healthy skin!
