Rachel McGowan, M.A.
Project Manager, Teacher, and Writer in California
i work with youth because i believe they will change the world, and i love being a part of it. i am fascinated by stories; i celebrate people. i think you matter and i want to help show you why.
i always speak up, i am sometimes blunt, i am usually self-aware, and i rarely sit still. i am extroverted through and through and i don't apologize for that. i am all heart.
academically: i have my masters in leadership + organizational studies. i love presentations, papers, and group projects. i thrive when i can be strategic and creative.
professionally: i have the pleasure of working as the program manager for I Am That Girl, a non profit organization that is shifting girl culture. overall, i want to control less and influence more. i want to lead young women who want to help others. i want to be around people who are encouraging, hard working, creative, and selfless. i want to work hard to make changes that will make life better for the next generation of girls. i want to walk alongside youth as they become big kids in a big world.
personally: i am learning to be brave with who i am in every situation. i am pursuing the little that is in front of me instead of the much that is far in the future. present over perfect. i never want to be satisfied; i want to keep pursuing adventure. i want to make God laugh and be glad he gave life to a girl who is enjoying every single part.
