Hi, I’m Rachel and I have a passion for writing about anything and everything. I was born and raised in Los Angeles (San Fernando Valley to be exact) and graduated from the University of California in 2008 with a B.A. in English and minor in Education. I began my professional writing career soon after graduation with an internship at LA.Direct Magazine, a hip lifestyle magazine based in Los Angeles. This is where I learned the ins and outs of print publication and was given the opportunity to hone in my passion for writing.

With interest and experience in topics such as fashion, celebrity and media, I’ve since worked for multiple mediums that allowed me to continually learn and grow. As a copywriter and marketing associate for the shopping website Modnique, I was exposed to fashion brands from all over the world and provided descriptions for products sold on the site. I also created partnerships with other fashion companies and sites to promote the sales.

After a few years of writing professionally, I moved to San Diego to pursued preschool teaching, where I acquired 2 years of wonderful memories with my toddlers, the families and the teachers. While teaching, I still pursued writing freelance for magazines such as Vigore Magazine (where I created my own column “Celebrity Chic For Cheap”) and Style Mode Magazine (where I contributed beauty articles).

I currently work as a content writer for Socialholic Network, a platform for various sites that publish viral articles about entertainment, fitness, technology, sports and trending topics. It’s a great place for me to utilize my experience as well as work on my versatility to write about various topics.

Aside from writing, I like to sing and listen to music. I also enjoy making jewelry, painting, scrapbooking, baking and doing DIY projects. I love playing with my pup Nala, wandering around farmer’s markets, weekly girls nights, going to the gym, reading fitness, fashion and lifestyle magazines, curling up with a good book (likely written by Sophie Kinsella and Nicholas Sparks), watching romantic comedies (that I’ve probably seen hundreds of times already) and exploring new cities.

I’m just a SoCal girl who loves both the city and the beach and the busy nightlife as well as lazy afternoons.
