Rachel Eidson
Over the course of the past two decades, Rachel Eidson has held a number of nursing and teaching positions. She launched her career in 1989 as an ICU nurse at the Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Georgia. One year later, she joined Cobb Oncology and Hematology as a registered nurse. During this period, Ms. Eidson administered chemotherapy treatments to adult patients suffering from a wide variety of cancers. In 1992, Rachel Eidson accepted a position as registered nurse at Cobb Hospital, where she spent the next seven years. In 1998, she was made the Charge Nurse before her promotion to House Supervisor the following year. During her tenure at the hospital, she was honored with the Outstanding Care award.
In 2000, Rachel Eidson became a teacher at Smyrna First Union Methodist Church. Over the course of the next 10 years, she taught a yearly class of 16 children, ages 2 and 3. During this period, she was in charge of teaching pre-math, science, and reading skills. She mentored parents on a variety of issues that new parents face. Currently, Ms. Eidson stays at home with her two daughters and creates and sells ceramics.
Prior to launching her career, Rachel Eidson attended the University of Georgia where she performed her pre-nursing school core work and received a 3.75 grade point average. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical School of Georgia.
Since 1996, Ms. Eidson has volunteered with a number of programs through the Smyrna First Union Methodist Church. These programs feed the homeless, organize blood drives, and provide young people with summer camp opportunities. In her spare time, Ms. Eidson enjoys running and participating in marathons.
