Growing up, I was always the designated ‘art kid.’ I was the elementary school girl who doodled in her notebooks. I was the middle schooler that was first to show up and last to leave the art room. Even in high school, when classes got tougher and free time got scarce, I managed to always incorporate some level of artistic creativity in my everyday life. Art, like many things, takes constant practice and experimentation. I think my relentlessness in furthering my abilities are a core principle I apply across multiple facets of my life. Putting my best foot forward has always been at the forefront of my mind. As such, I am constantly trying to better myself. In the time I spent preparing for and coming to college, I have really gotten a grip on my life and what it is I really want to do. As an art history major, my goal is to leave the museum business a better place than I found it. I want to be a part of the effort to reintroduce the importance of culture and history in a changing society. Similarly, I want to work closely with the world’s greatest artists, even if it is posthumously. Art connects people, and I want to help build those bridges. I believe that to be the truest thing about me –my desire to help.
