I am currently a junior studying accounting at the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst. I am from Medway, Massachusetts, a small town about an hour and a half from Amherst. I have been interested in studying business since I was about 16 years old, when I started working as an office assistant at a small, family-owned business called Long Distance Tire & Auto Repair.
I have several hobbies and interests, some of which include reading, traveling, shopping, and exercising.
Ever since I was a young girl, I had a passion for helping others, whether it be helping my friends overcome personal problems and obstacles or on a larger scale of helping others I don't know. As I grew up, I began to research and learn of the many volunteer opportunities and took advantage of these experiences as often as possible.
I currently intern at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County office in Amherst. Through this experience, I have been given the opportunity to plan, raise funds, and attend several various events. Throughout high school and college, I also completed similar volunteer work such as participating in fundraising walks and managing a fundraiser at my high school to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
I think it is important for any and all capable individuals to help others as much as humanly possible and hope to follow this passion and continue to complete volunteer work for several various organizations for the rest of my life.
