I love to be outside, and I love being a scientist. Recently, I left the academic world to work as a physics tutor / outdoor sports instructor.

My path so far has been somewhat 'untraditional', graduating with a masters in physics from University of Hull in 2007, I quickly moved on to work in the UK Nuclear industry for 3 or so years, travelling all over the UK. In January 2010, I left it all behind and became an instructor in south Wales, followed by a short stint in ice climbing in Kinlochleven, Scotland. My PhD began in September 2010 in York, and in March 2014, I took an academic post in the Physics department at the University of Strathclyde, until September 2016. Now, I spend my days between physics tutoring, part time work, and getting qualifications completed.

All of my time is pretty much taken up going running, mountain running, whitewater kayaking, climbing, snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking or volunteering for the SCA. You can have a peek at my website, or catch me on the social networking sites below. See you out there :)
