Rachella kingswijk
Rachella Kingswijk is an actress from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She was born in Moengo, Suriname (October 2nd, 1985) and moved to Holland in November 1987. She is the 7th of 8 siblings.
Her acting career began at the age of 8 when she started her first year of the Amsterdam youth theatre school. She attended the school for 7 years and performed in many stage plays in that period. At 12 she hosted a children's TV show on AT5 (Amsterdam's local Tv channel). Her first big acting role was at age 14, when she played Captain Hook in the stage play Peter Pan. After that period she began acting in short films. At the age of 17 Rachella had one of the leading roles in the 2003 NPS short film Vet! (2003). This film was the winner of the Silver Bear in Berlin. The film also received nominations for both the Golden calf and Gold Hugo. All in the category: Best short film.
From December 2010 until July 2011 Rachella traveled in West- and East-Africa. After she returned to Europe she joined the cast of the scary, interactive, theatre: 'The Amsterdam Dungeon', where she worked until early 2013.
In 2013 she played Kaya, in the historical Daniel Bruce film 'Into thin air' (Dutch title: In het niets). This film is about 'de Bijlmerramp', the 1992 plane crash in Amsterdam. The film is part of the One night stand series and will premiere at the Dutch film festival in September 2013.
Besides the television and film roles, Rachella is also one of the voice overs for Amsterdam FM and Double 7 FM radio.
