Rachella Kingswijk is a Dutch actress, writer and filmmaker based in Paris. Born in Moengo, Suriname, and raised in Amsterdam, she discovered her passion for storytelling at the age of eight when she joined the Amsterdam Youth Theatre School.
After appearing in several Dutch theatre and film productions, she wrote and performed her own solo theatre piece, Zijn naam was Wolf, before moving to Paris to study at the prestigious École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq. There, she further developed her interest in visual storytelling, physical theatre and character-driven narratives.
Since settling in Paris, Kingswijk has worked across theatre, opera and independent film, including performances with the Opéra national de Paris. She will also appear in Ty Hodges' upcoming feature film Love Me in Paris.
The Unraveling of Dahlia Brown marks her feature film debut as writer, director, producer and lead actress. Filmed across New York, Paris, London, Amsterdam and Texel, the psychological thriller explores memory, identity and the fragile boundary between dreams and reality.
Whether on stage, on screen or behind the camera, Kingswijk is drawn to stories that explore the complexities of the human mind, inviting audiences into worlds where mystery, emotion and psychological tension intertwine.
