Rachel Lucus

Hi! I’m Rachel Lucus. Self proclaimed travel connoisseur and aspiring photojournalist. These are a few of my favorite things: Spontaneously buying plane tickets, sitting in a hammock, learning about new cultures, and watching Disney movies on repeat.

Now who are you? Do you want to explore the world? Good! I can help you with that. My credentials include 35 states and 27 countries on 5 continents (and counting…). Though I’m based in Seattle, WA, I’m only here sometimes. Do you want portraits and family photos? Great! Lucus Photography is all about capturing people in their happy place.

I received a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Washington in 2016 (go dawgs!). I love learning about people and cultures and seeing things from new perspectives so I majored in it. Currently I am working towards a master’s in New Media Journalism because who doesn’t want to do more school after they’re done with school?

I’m trying really hard not to be a typical traveling millennial and failing. I love exploring and creating and eating fried chicken. I grew up in Memphis, TN which explains my deep love for unhealthy food and my desire to call everyone sir and ma’am. My hobbies change regularly and currently involve volleyball and finding live music around the city.

Not to be overly Disney but I can show you the world! And hopefully this will include the good, the great, the adventurous and sometimes the crazy aspects this earth has to offer.
