Rachel Peralta
Writer and content creator in Philippines
I’ve moved from one place to another since I was little. We were in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War—my parents took me to deserts, rivers, coastal roads, and other endless playgrounds. It was something I didn’t know I was going to pick up later as an adult.
Excited about finding a career that entailed writing and creating, I took up a BA in Communication Arts at the University of the Philippines, where I was exposed to different expressions of writing, speech, and theater. Ironically, I landed my first job in the financial world instead and delved into the dynamic operations of customer service and banking.
I finally decided to further focus on my personal growth, leaping into the digital world after almost 12 years in financial services. I picked up a lot about coaching, training, and, most importantly, leadership, which I truly enjoyed. I finally got to push myself to move away from the comforts of familiarity and a steady paycheck.
Most importantly, I now have more opportunities to explore places and meet new people, virtually and in person. I enjoy road trips, instant car concerts, surfing, or simply exploring different beaches in our archipelago. Soon, I hope to travel to all 81 provinces in the Philippines (I’m currently done with 30) and learn more dishes to cook beyond Adobo.
I’m happy to say that I’m now one of the catalysts for great content ideas. My current projects are Reviewlution.ca ; WhyDoesEverythingSuck.net; Petpedia.co and SpendMeNot.com. I write about a wide range of topics and can’t stop telling people about our team’s work.
