On a daily basis I strive to be reliable, motivated, positive, and committed. Emphasizing value in others opinions and feelings is important to me which is why I make a point to always respect those around me. I will utilize my skills to the best of my ability in order to benefit my work as well as respecting authority and following any guidelines in place. The field of human resources has always peaked my interest. Being a psychology major, understanding and helping people has been something I look forward to doing; HR allows me to take this and apply it to the workplace. To me, HR is about helping out employees and creating a work place which everyone enjoys. Sophomore year of high school was my first look at how a professional work environment functions. Working at a law firm is different than working in human resources in a number of ways, but this job gave me the basic skills needed in order to succeed in other work environments. Working at this law firm for about 3 years, I was able to strengthen my communication skills as well as gain experience in a task oriented business setting. This opportunity allowed me to strengthen the skills needed in order to excel as intern for the talent management team at Cablevision. As a talent management intern, I got to work on some the bigger projects that Cablevision was implementing such as their career pathing website that allowed employees to assess the position they currently held and map out ways they can move up in their current field or change fields within the company. I helped with researching and writing job descriptions, organizing company profiles for talent reviews, and gathered company feedback to help in the redesigning of the IT department.
