Every day, each of us is exposed to as many as 5,000 marketing and advertising messages. With so many different companies trying to target and sell to us, the importance of effective marketing plans and strategies is becoming more and more essential.
Marketing is often perceived to be the same as sales or advertising, however, it is much more complex than that. It involves every aspect of introducing a product or service to the market and ensures that customer needs and expecatations are either met or exceeded. Furthermore, the emergence of new mareting tools, such as e-commerce and social media, is outstandingly powerful and something I find intriguing. The whole concept of marketing is both challenging and exciting, leading to my desire to pursue a career in this field.
In a bid to achieve this goal, I am currrently studying a BA honours degree in Marketing. I achieved a First in my first year of study and am confident I will maintain this standard throughout my course. I also work in retail which has only fuelled my ambition as I am able to witness the end results of a successful marketing plan. Furthermore, it allows me to participate in activities such as visual merchandising, providing customer service and being involved in product feedback and development.
I am commited to ensuring that I am successful in securing a career in marketing and believe that my work values, such as dedication, determination and ability to adapt and diversify, will get me there.
