Rachel Sydney Keylin

I am a passionate, organized, and focused students currently completing a Bachelors of Arts in Communication at Western Washington University with a minor in Event Planning with an estimated graduation date of Winter 2015. I am searching for a position in news broadcasting, radio broadcasting, public relations, and event planning.

A look at my professional experience will illustrate my drive to supplement my classroom education through on-the-job experiences. To do this, I used summers away from campus to work directly in the public relations field though internships. During the summer of 2011 I had the pleasure of serving as the intern media coordinator for Clear Channel Broadcasting’s four radio stations in Seattle. My work included programming updates, organizing and writing each station’s blog, Facebook and Twitter accounts, and writing public relations pieces and press releases. In the summer of 2012 and 2013, I interned for Marketing AND, a communications and event planning agency. I had the opportunity to report to and learn from the Executive Director. With his encouragement I gained valuable experience writing press releases and blogs, writing materials for and editing websites, and adding to my business acumen by learning the ins and outs of merchandising and creating financial spreadsheets. I also served as host for pre-event functions, supervised event-day hospitality services, and acted as the direct link between clients, artists and technicians.
