Rachel Higgins

I love helping people. I love to listen to people's stories. I love knowing I've made even the smallest difference in someone's life.

I'm currently serving as the Assistant Director for Admission and Financial Aid at Virginia Theological Seminary. I'm passionate about working with students and assisting them with their own developement. I have a wide variety of experiences within the Higher Education world, mostly in Student Affairs. They all have one central theme: direct contact with students. Whether it's a continueous supervisory relationship or a one-time meeting, I try to make the most out of this contact, to help students learn about themselves and travel along the path of their development. This is my first experience with admissions; the small scale environment of serving a campus of 150 students allows me to take a Student Affairs approach to our prospective and current students and I'm loving it!

Outside of my work life, I will always be a Pittsburgh girl at heart. I love our sports teams and love our city. Everyone says this, but I have some of the best friends, they make me laugh constantly. And I love to laugh. I've recently relocated to the Washington D.C. Metro Area and am excited to explore and learn about my new city!
