Being healthy and fit wasn't always an idea that I strived to live by. In fact I was one of the many who understand the value of fitness, but don't take any action. However, when I found myself 80 pounds overweight at the end of my first year of college at the Ohio State University. I realized that I was sabotaging my own life. I embarked on a weight loss journey, just to shed a few pounds. This turned out to be the beginning of an experience that altered the course of my life. After my first 20 pounds, I lost 20 more, just to see how I looked and felt. Then more came off because I could do something about it- I regained control of my life, I felt better about myself and I was enjoying it!

I was happy to see where I got, but I also became very aware of the struggle those who were in my shoes go through. The reality is that we all know what needs to be done, and for that matter what is healthy.

However, taking that initial step to start the process and make it happen, is so tough that at times it seems a hopeless cause. This is why I became a personal trainer, my personal experience with overcoming obstacles like this allows me to relate directly to those who are in my shoes.
