In 2013,itis with great privilege that I was invited to participate for 5 days in theVital Voices and Bank of America Global Ambassadors Program at Singapore, ahigh-touch mentoring program for outstanding women leaders in social andbusiness entrepreneurship. Since then, I have close relationship with VitalVoices and organized a Global Mentoring Walk twice in Malaysia and eventsponsored by Bank of America.
I have been selected bythe U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur to participate in the U.S. government’s premiereprofessional exchange program, the International Visitor Leadership Program(IVLP). My group program, entitled “Changemakers: The Impact of SocialEntrepreneurs in the U.S,” run for 21 days last August 2014.
The IVLP that wasproposed for me is designed to focus on the concept of social entrepreneurship,as well as government initiatives that support civic engagement and innovation.Through examination of successful models of social entrepreneurship, theparticipants will explore the impact of new and social media on traditionalmethods of fundraising, grassroots mobilization and strategiccollaboration. The program will also include community service, homehospitality as well as opportunity to network among the participants.
In September 2014, I have been accepted toparticipate in the MaGIC-HUB Social Entrepreneurship Bootcamp powered by INSEADfor 2.5 days. I went through an intense and tailored 48-hour methodology fordesigning a novel solution that addresses a neglected societal problem.
InJanuary 2015, my application been accepted to the Vital Voices Lead FellowshipProgram Class 2015. The program supports a global network of emerging andestablished women leaders who provide unusual and sustainable solutions topressing problems that have impeded women and girls’ progress toparticipate fully in society and the economy.
