Rafael Send

San Francisco, California, United States

I like to keep my mind busy. Right now I'm at home, juggling job applications, a bit of soul-searching and some creative thinking.

"What kind of thinking?" you might ask. For example, a few weeks ago I went to Photonics West here in San Francisco to learn about thermal vision and cameras. I'm convinced there must be a cheaper way for the average consumer / researcher to employ thermal vision, even if low-resolution.

My background is electrical engineering, currently specializing in PCB layout and circuit design. After I graduated from UC Berkeley last December, I continued my undergraduate research, published a paper and presented it at IEEE Sensors last fall. Then I briefly worked at a startup called Skycatch, Inc designing custom drone electronics, and now I'm back in the job market. For further background, my resume and portfolio are posted on LinkedIn

If you are looking for an electrical engineer to contract or consult at your company or have any questions about me, please reach out by email.

Other than engineering, I enjoy photography. I shoot with a Pentax K-5 (mostly outdoor scenery and animals, but I don't have the glass for good zoom shots). I enjoy backpacking and hiking as well as tennis (which I honestly haven't played in forever).
