Rafaela Stålbalk Klose
Journalist, Human Rights Advocate, and Project Manager in Malmö, Sverige
Hi,
My name is Rafaela Stålbalk Klose and I am a Brazilian-Swedish freelance journalist with international experience in human rights and development work. I am committed to amplify the voices of diversity by telling stories about identity, gender and subcultures – often with social justice themes.
Additionally, I am committed to tell stories about critical global issues and to challenge traditional media narratives. My employees include Ordfront, Mail & Guardian, Etnografiska, Kvinnohistoriska, Sköna Hem, Vi Föräldrar, Historiskan, MåBra, Skolfamiljen, mama to mention a few.
My work has rewarded me with grants from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA); and from a Swedish foundation that has the purpose of supporting progressive women. Previously, I have been involved in various social development work projects that have taken me across four continents – ranging from humanitarian disarmament in Latin America, children’s rights in Thailand to gender advocacy campaigns in Sub-Saharan Africa.
I am based in Malmö (Sweden). I contribute to podcasts, radio shows and documentaries. I am also a moderator and speaker.
