Rafael Escamilla

Rafael Escamilla, PhD, PT, has won numerous awards for his work in the field of biomechanics. In 2014, he was the recipient of the Outstanding Scholarly and Creative Research Award for the College of Human Health and Services at California State University, Sacramento.

His work has received numerous professional awards, such as the award winning presentation “Biomechanics and Pathomechanics of the Throwing Shoulder” awarded by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, he was the recipient of the Outstanding Scholarly and Creative Activity Research Award in the College of Health and Human Services at California State University, Sacramento, given a “best presentation” award by the California Physical Therapy Association for the presentation “Cruciate ligament force between the forward lunge and side lunge with and without a stride”, a Distinguished Physical Therapy Alumni Award at Elon University, and finalist for the President’s Award for Research & Creative Activity at California State University, Sacramento.
