An accomplished health care administrator, Rafic Warwar brings more than three decades of experience to his position as the chief administrative officer for the University of Miami Health System. In this leadership role, he helps guide a $2.5 billion organization that includes the university’s Miller School of Medicine, a hospital system, and the largest physician practice group in the State of Florida with over 1,300 physicians.
Rafic Warwar received his bachelor’s degree from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, before going on to complete a master’s degree in health administration at Chapman University in Orange, California. Prior to his current position with the University of Miami Health System, Mr. Warwar held a number of other leadership roles with the organization, including serving as chief operations officer for the Miller School of Medicine and as vice chair for administration of Miller’s DeWitt Daughtry Family Department of Surgery.
A retired United States Air Force officer, Mr. Warwar served as a healthcare administrator at several medical centers. During his time in the military, he received numerous medals and commendations.
