Raghav Mattay studies at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia. There, he works for the Center for Functional Neuroimaging, analyzing phase contrast angiography data to compare angiographic flow with an independent measure of cerebral blood flow, under Dr. John Detre.

Prior to medical school, Raghav attended the University of Virginia, where he was an honors student and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cognitive Science, with a concentration in Neuroscience. His graduating these was entitled "AMPA Receptor Plasticity During Experimental Status Epilepticus."

Clinical research experience at the National Institutes of Health between school years since 2006 helped establish his passion for medicine and decision to focus on Integrative Neuroimaging.

Outside of his professional life, Rahgav is passionate about health and fitness, including sports. In high school, he ran track and featured in several events, including the long jump and high jump, and he remains physically active today.

Additionally, he has always maintained a philanthropic lifestyle and continues to volunteer whenever possible. The charities and organizations with which he has worked, tutoring elementary students or simply offering a helping hand, include:
