Ragnar Horn, born in 1961, is the Chairman of Norwegian family-owned private investment firm Taconic AS. Married with three children, Horn currently lives between Oslo, London and New York City.

In 1982 Horn graduated from the Cavalry Officer Candidate School in Norway, after which he moved to the United States in order to continue his studies. Studying at Williams College, Massachusetts, Horn gained his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, with honours, in 1985. Horn worked for two years as an Analyst at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets in New York, before achieving his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the prestigious Harvard Business School.

In 1989, Horn became an Associate at Credit Suisse First Boston Corporation, New York, moving on in 1991 to become Vice President of Mortimer Scott Associates Ltd, New York. During this time Horn gained his series 7 SEC broker licence and became a registered representative with both the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD).

Horn has served on a number of Corporate Boards, including: R.S. Platou ASA, worldwide; Neptun AS, Norway; Viking Global Equities III, Cayman Islands; Bona Shipping AS, Bermuda; Helicopter Services Group AS; Hoegh Eiendom AS, Norway; and Dyvi Holding AS, Norway. Currently, Horn is serving on the Board of Eiendomsspar AS and Victoria Eiendom AS in Norway, Berner Gruppen AS, Norway, and the Hoegh Family Advisory Board.

Horn also serves as a member of the Harvard Business School Global Leader’s Circle, and the not-for-profit organisation Right to Play’s Global Leadership Council.
