experiential design is true game writing - like fiction writing and scriptwriting but with multitasking.
visual interactive storytelling has its roots in both fiction/script writing (imagery + journey + depth + expression + riffing on settings/events charged with meaning + curiosity/speculative investigation) and in describing/analysis (via design blueprints) of non-linear experience writing.
they could go this way (and if they do they experience this) or they could go that way (and if they do they experience that) at any point this or that may happen and while it is triggered, (which means it is both a cause of the experience and an effect of whatever the trigger object was) it also affects what they experience, because it affects the world which changes everything it is connected to/has within it - including the experience (but there is an overarching story/journey guiding all writing choices (changes in values - where values = elements that can have positive or negative or ironic assignments + why they change = substance of meaning) - in the case of game writing there are multiple potential journeys.)
In the old days, if you didn't want them to go in a particular direction you would put a wall or a looping endless nothing - because infinite directions of exploration in those days was far too complex to take into account in writing - people still have tricks for it these days, such as procedural generation of environments, etc.

I'm a poet, novelist, screenwriter, comic writer/cartoonist, playwright, tv writer, game writer/artist, mecha artist, video creator, production designer, digital product developer, digital artist, ecourse writer, consultant and web product manager.
My style is: The quirky New Zealander specialist vibe - the gothic horror intellectual experimentational vibe.
I write 15-21 manuscripts yearly and cartoon content.
