From the age of 4, I've always been interested in motorcycles. My father began riding dirt bikes when he was 16 in Toronto, and kept up with it throughout the rest of his life. One day, he was in our garage working on his dirt bike, and I decided I was going to give him some help. When he wasn't looking, I grabbed his wood clamps and some sticks from the yard, put it all together, and proudly boasted my work to him. At age 9 my dad bought me my first dirt bike, but it took a while to get into it. I competed in my first race in 2015 and finished third, but I didn't love it yet. After that I stopped riding as much and focused more on my other extracurriculars. Then in my freshman year of high school I got back into it, but once again it wasn't a huge part of my life and fizzled out. Finally, my junior year of high school I decided I would compete in a full racing season, and I learned that I loved nothing more than dirt bike racing. That year I finished the season in fourth in my racing class, and did another full season the next year falling just short in sixth. Dirt bike racing has become a huge part of my life, and if I weren't able to hit the trails every now and again, I would end up a stressed out mess. The picture is from my most recent race on November 5th, where I finished my first race in the fastest morning race class in seventh place.
