I trained as an architect and I work as a designer and freelance print and video journalist, telling stories about design, city building and the social impact of both.

These stories come in many shapes and sizes; I've produced tv and radio reports for the Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC), and written articles for The Guardian, The Atlantic Cities (now CityLab), the Toronto Star, Spacing Magazine, the Dallas Morning News and CBC.ca. I've also developed brand strategies and design research for a number of private consulting firms. In 2012, I was a Fellow in Global Journalism at the Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto.

I am one half of the creative team behind In-Context - a national video series and online publication made in partnership with the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) and supported by the Canada Council for the Arts. (www.incontextvideos.com)

Before becoming a journalist, I practiced architecture in Toronto, Vancouver, Shanghai, Melbourne and London UK, and exhibited a number of art installations that explored the relationships between architecture, cultural memory and perception.
