Rajan Singh

Hi, my name is Rajan Singh and I am a senior at Troy High School in Troy, Michigan.

Something that you may not know about me is that I love to grow. When I say that I don't mean literally but figuratively. For example, I have been playing video games since elementary school and have loved it ever since. One thing that I especially love doing is playing them with my friends. We like to play a lot of games that require a lot of precision, strategies, and good reaction time.

When I started playing these types of games with my friends I would always lose to them. For example in a game called Destiny 2, I had friends called Moonis and whenever we fought against each other he would always win. No matter what I did I couldn't even get halfway to beating him. After we fought once he had to leave and immediately after that I went back to my video game console, took a video of our fight, and tried to learn as much as I could about what he was doing that made me lose.

After that duel, I have always been trying to learn from my mistakes and I believe I have become a better person because of it. In the 1-2 years of playing that game, I had slowly been reaching towards my friend's level. Towards the end of those years, I could safely say that while I not only improved upon myself, I could safely say that now the roles were reversed and even I was teaching him ways on how to improve upon himself in the game.

This experience is the same as how I treat school. I always try to improve my work and gain as much knowledge as I can. This has helped me a lot throughout high school and hopefully, it will help me too in the near future when I go off to college.
